It’s a roundabout story (aren’t they all).  I’ll skip ahead to the part where I enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating college in 1985.  My background was math and finance, but in the Marines I ended up as an Arabic interpreter on a Special Forces team.

“Taking Point”

Like all special forces members, I’d gone through special forces training.  It was there that I learned the skill and art of “taking point” while on patrol.

Ambushes are inevitable.  Be prepared.

“Taking point” is a big job.  A lot goes into it.  But a big part of it was learning how to spot and plan for ambushes.  Ambushes by definition are unpredictable.  You don’t know when they’ll happen or where they’ll come from.  But you can be sure that ambushes will come.

It’s All About “Taking Point”.

In your financial life you are always on a journey to somewhere.  Whether you are saving and investing to retire or paying for kids’ college…you have goals.  Your saving and perseverance need to pay off.  Be vigilant and prepare for ambushes.  Choppy and unpredictable markets can set you back, and after all your saving and persevering, you shouldn’t be forced to start over.  I can show you how to “take point” so that you can avoid the setbacks that could force you back to square one.
